的 National 学生 Exchange (NSE) is a program for undergraduate exchange within the United States with opportunities for exchange in Canada as well. Instead of crossing oceans, NSE students cross state, regional, provincial, and cultural borders. 的 changes seen in attitudes, understanding of other people in other settings, 成熟, 冒险, and decision-making are similar to the experiences of students who study internationally.

What is the NSE process?

Making the Right Decision

Before you make an appointment with the NSE Coordinator:

  1. 阅读更多 how the National 学生 Exchange (NSE) program works
  2. Read your home campus exchange policies and procedures 
  3. Select five to ten campuses of interest to you
  4. Research exchange options by reviewing campus profiles
  5. Consult your academic advisor to identify appropriate exchange options 
  6. Discuss NSE participation with family, friends, parents and former exchange participants 
  7. Determine if your financial resources are sufficient 

To qualify you must

To qualify for the NSE program you must:

  • Be a full time RIC student 
  • Must have completed 24 credits at RIC
  • Have a minimum GPA of a 2.5 when your application is submitted 

Required Materials

  • One unofficial and official RIC transcript 
  • Three recommendation letters 
  • Nonrefundable NSE application and 的地方ment fee ($150)

学生s will receive notice of a mandatory NSE Placement Meeting with the NSE Coordinator in the month of March. At this meeting students can:

  • Learn which institution accepted their application 
  • Sign an agreement to accept or decline their 的地方ment 
  • Learn if they have been selected for a special scholarships 

After students are 的地方d in the NSE program, their primary contact will be the NSE Coordinator at the host institution. This individual will assist with:

  • Course registration
  • Housing and meals 
  • Orientation and term dates
